Rui Huang, FRSA, is a multidisciplinary Innovation Engineer and Design Strategist with over a decade of experience shaping the future of human–technology interaction.

His practice is at the intersection of design innovation, human factors, engineering, and manufacturing, bridging physical and digital domains from early research, R&D, through to commercialisation and global product launch.

Over the past 15 years, Rui has helped shape global product portfolios across Dyson, Philips Lighting, and SURI, contributing to more than 100 products launched internationally. His work spans smart wearables, biometric sensing, oral care, lighting, audio, smart home systems, and sustainable consumer technology, including his sole invention, Tangio Hapmantics®, an award-winning extended-reality wearable redefining digital interaction.

Recognised as an Exceptional Global Talent by the UK Home Office and Tech Nation, Rui’s work has received 15+ international design awards, including iF, Red Dot, Good Design, and IDA, and has been exhibited across more than 40 international showcases in the UK, Europe, the U.S., and Asia. He has also been invited as a guest speaker, guest lecturer, and jury member across global conferences, universities, and design award. From Winter Olympics lighting systems to clinically validated wearable devices, Rui continues to shape the frontier of human-centred, technology-driven design innovation.
