Rui Huang, FRSA, is a multidisciplinary Innovation Engineer and Design Strategist with 15 years of experience shaping the future of human–technology/object interaction. Specialising in end-to-end product innovation, Rui bridges physical and digital domains , from early-stage research and R&D to commercialisation.

Delivering over 100 products launched globally across Dyson, Philips, and SURI, his expertise spans Smart Wearables, Audio, Oral Care, Health & Biometric Sensing, Lighting, Smart Home, Human Factors & Ergonomics, and Consumer Technology. Rui has led global product portfolios and breakthrough inventions, including Dyson’s wearable platforms, Philips Hue connected systems, and his sole invention, Tangio Hapmantics®, an award-winning extended-reality wearable redefining digital interaction. His work has been exhibited at more than 40 international showcases across the UK, EU, US, and Asia.

Recognised as an Exceptional Global Talent by the UK Home Office and Tech Nation, Rui has been invited as the honorary speaker and guest lecturer at global conferences and universities. With 15+ global design awards (iF, Red Dot, Good Design, IDA) and tangible societal impact—from Winter Olympics lighting systems to clinically validated wearable devices, Rui continues to shape the frontier of human-centred, technology-driven design innovation.
